Annual HFFD Blood Drive Saturday June 3rd from 8:30 AM until 1PM. Open to the Community, Walkins are Welcome Donating blood is a safe, simple, and satisfying experience. Your donations help give life to the millions of Americans each year who require blood transfusions during surgery, after an accident, or because they have a disease that requires blood components. There are many different ways to donate lifesaving blood products, including whole blood, platelet, plasma, and automated red cell donation. The process usually takes about 45-60 minutes. Annual HFFD Blood Drive, Open to the community Preparation Donation Frequency Automated red cells (Alyx): If you meet specific minimum height and weight requirements, you can donate automated red cells. Automated red cell donors can donate every 112 days or 3 times a year. These donors (sometimes referred to as double red cell donors) help save 2 patients with their single automated donation because it yields enough red cells for 2 patient transfusions. Platelets: You can donate platelets up to a maximum of 24 times a year. Plasma: You can donate plasma every 28 days For more information click the link below to the NY Blood Centers |
