After your initial training, members meet on Tuesday nights for a few hours to conduct training, meetings or general cleanup of equipment and the fire house. We also do various community events and fund raisers. It is the belief of the department the more you put into it the more you get out of being a member.

Residents of Highland Falls are not allowed to burn leaves or brush at any time. For more information contact the Town of Highlands Building Department or the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control
What area does the Highland Falls Fire Department cover?
The primary coverage area of the Highland Falls Fire Department is the Village of Highland Falls but we are included in both automatic and on request mutual aid plans with surrounding communities
Is the Fire Department staffed by paid firefighters or volunteers?
All apparatus is staffed by 100% Volunteer personnel. They are truly the life and body of the organization, not only responding to emergencies but also taking on many other responsibilities such as administrative work, fundraising, community events, etc. Our members are fully trained emergency responders to State and National standards.
